Enrolment in the Master of Teaching (Primary). Successful completion of EDN5501 Transition to Teaching, EDN561 Learners and the Learning Environment, EDN563 Literacy and Learning and successful completion of / or co-enrolment in EDN562 Numeracy and Learning.

Learning outcomes

1.

Analyse a range of instructional strategies and select those most appropriate for their teaching context and the specific needs of students

2.

Create a plan outlining the teaching strategies they will use for establishing and maintaining a positive learning environment

3.

Establish how they would use a range of strategies to prevent and respond to challenging student behaviours

4.

Create plans for two consecutive learning experiences, with appropriate assessments, using two different instructional approaches and corresponding instructional strategies. 

5.

Develop a rationale for the design and implementation of the two consecutive learning and assessment experiences, using theory and research to explain and justify decisions. 

6.

From a Professional Teaching perspective, critically reflect on the design and planning processes that have been utilised.
