The broad aims of this unit are to provide an introduction to: * the Information Systems discipline and the role of information systems in contemporary life * the technical, organisational and social issues underpinning information systems * how information systems are organised, designed and built in order that students may acquire the foundational knowledge to further their studies in the IS discipline and ultimately engage with the profession.
