Key topics covered in this unit include: • Detailed knowledge of fingerprint and impression evidence composition and comparison procedures. • Detailed knowledge and practise of international recognised chemical, physical and visual techniques as applied to fingerprints, latent prints and impression evidence. • Detailed knowledge of joint forensic examinations, preservation and recording of evidence and contamination avoidance. • Practical application of WA Police fingerprint and impression evidence enhancement processes and procedures. Mock scene assessment of practical application of skills and knowledge – assessed by WA Police experts.
