Learning outcomes
1.
Demonstrate a critical understanding of the policies and practice of radio programming and the distinguishing features of the different sectors of radio broadcasting (commercial, public sector and community).
2.
Analyse and critique radio products.
3.
Demonstrate a practical understanding of the role of the journalist in radio.
4.
Apply the basic legal and ethical principles that govern the conduct of media producers.
5.
Demonstrate familiarity with the layout and function of the radio studio and be operationally proficient in the use of microphones and studio and portable recording equipment.
6.
Record good quality sound in the studio and on location.
7.
Write and deliver a radio script.
8.
Select, research, record and edit a story for radio.
9.
Apply the techniques of interviewing for radio.
