Establish the research principles applicable to the field of education

Produce a rationale’ for the relevant APST sources of professional learning for teachers and the implications for improved student learning

Create, implement and provide a rationale based on unit content for a research-based project

Demonstrate the cognitive, technical and creative skills necessary to investigate and analyse complex information.

5.

Summarise and communicate your research project findings in a professional forum

Unit content:

Wk1 Topic 1: What is research and why is it important for teachers? Review of literature.
Wk2 Topic 2: Writing a literature review. Research Design and Methods including ethical considerations.
Wk 3 Topic 3: Gathering data ethically
Assignment 1 due beginning week 4 (2500 words)
Wk 4 -6 Gathering data
Wk 7 Topic 4: Organising and analysing data
Wk 8 Topic 5: Presenting results and writing conclusions
Wk 9 Topic 6: Poster presentation
Wk 10 Presentations - Seminar -– presentations (Assignment 3 – poster presentation)
Assignment 2 – Research Report: due end of week 10
