Unit content:The unit content is split into five separate components each covered over a two-week period.
Entrepreneurial Goals and Context
• Considering innovation and why it matters. In this part of the unit, students touch upon social innovation, innovation in a global context and sustainability-led innovation, considering these in an entrepreneurial context.
Identifying Opportunity
• Students review entrepreneurial creativity, sources of innovation and search strategies for innovation.
Finding Resources
• Students work to build a business case, look at the value of leadership and teamwork, and consider the power of networks.
Developing the venture
• Students focus on the development of product and services, the steps needed to create a new venture, talent development and how an enterprise can be grown.
Creating value
• Students look at steps to help harness knowledge and expertise, business models and organisational management.
