Unit content:This unit is designed to equip students with the ability to apply sociological principles to understanding young people. Topics include: globalisation of youth cultures; ethnicity, gangs and violence; youth identity in relation to gender, ethnicity and generational change; and young people’s adaptation to their social and physical environment.
Other notes:It is highly recommended to have completed S134/SOC134 Introduction to Sociology prior to enrolling in this unit.
