This Unit comprises a total of 10 weeks designed to obtain a broad range of experience within the field of small animal practice. The unit requires well-developed critical thinking skills, application of theory and concepts, thorough understanding and recall of key knowledge from earlier relevant units and the ability to integrate concepts into a clinical context. Four weeks of this unit must be completed internally at The Animal Hospital, Murdoch University. The remaining 6 weeks can be completed either internally or in external placements. Internal placements can be completed in the following disciplines: anaesthesia, critical care, emergency medicine, small animal surgery, small animal medicine, primary care, spay trips (WA) and reproduction. The Unit Coordinator must approve any external placement before it is undertaken.
