Learning outcomes

1.

Identify, describe  and compare the main processes described as 'alternative dispute resolution' including the form and dynamics of these processes and when and where they are available. 

2.

Reflect upon the characteristics of alternative processes and their relation to each other and to litigation and critically evaluate the use of ADR in particular areas of law.

3.

Explain the knowledge, skills and attributes required of mediators, negotiators, and arbitrators including the additional learning experiences and skills you would need to serve in these roles.

Reflect on your personal learning in the Unit

Describe and explain a basic model of mediation, including the roles of mediators and participants
