Communicate knowledge of nutrition and toxicology with respect to the health, productivity and welfare of companion animals and livestock
Demonstrate proficiency in formulating and evaluating rations, assessing nutritional status and recognising toxins relevant to companion animals and livestock
Apply knowledge to solve and manage problems associated with nutrition and toxicology for companion animals and livestock, including in the context of diagnostic planning, animal management and care, and promoting health

The unit is divided into the following modules of study: 1. Nutrients, feed analysis and feedstuffs, vitamins and minerals 2. Equine nutrition 3. Ruminant and camelid nutrition 4. Pig and poultry nutrition 5. Companion animal nutrition 6. Ration formulation 7. Introduction to toxicology of domestic animals.
