Learning outcomes

Apply molecular techniques including DNA cloning, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), DNA sequencing, DNA restriction and hybridization methods;

2.

Communicate understanding of DNA replication, recombination, mutation and repair;

3.

Communicate gene expression from DNA to RNA to protein, and signal transduction including how this is regulated;

4.

The ability to appropriately design experiments effectively interpret and communicate experimental data;

5.

Demonstrate bioinformatics skills, particularly involving the exploitation of data from molecular databases.
