Additional information
The unit contains four main topics: foundations of statistics, general linear model, multilevel modelling, and models with latent variables. Students will also learn how to use appropriate statistical software and to present data in a sound and engaging way. In foundations of statistics, the concepts of probability and causality will be examined. The general linear model will be presented as a structure that allows to conduct different types of analyses. Multilevel modelling will be presented as an extension of the general linear model. Latent variable models such as factor analysis and structural equation modelling will be explained
This unit replaces BSC300 for students in the BSc (Psychology) and (Cognitive Neuroscience and Health Psychology) majors, and BAR300 for students in the BA (Social and Developmental Psychology) major.
