Learning outcomes

Describe Australia’s health care system, the health professions, and concepts of health, wellness and illness.

2.

Understand selected health promotion, psychology and behaviour change concepts in interdisciplinary health promotion and apply these in health education practice. 

3.

Examine the influences on students' own health behaviours and identify appropriate self-management strategies to promote health and wellbeing.

4.

Identify and apply knowledge of Australia’s current public health campaigns and apply this to provide effective patient education in  evidence-based nursing practice that is underpinned by health psychology.

5.

Develop health literacy, numeracy and technology skills.

6.

Understand, develop and demonstrate academic integrity and professional verbal and non-verbal communication skills in all academic work.
