Learning outcomes

1.

Reflect on psychological practice with a diverse range of children, adolescents and their families drawing on knowledge of contextual influences on development, and professional and ethical guidelines.

2.

Appropriately diagnose psychological problems in childhood and adolescence using the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

3.

Construct case formulations that synthesise and organize clinical information derived at interview and assessment with children, adolescents and their families that are responsive to their sociocultural contexts and draw on relevant research.

4.

Design evidence-based treatment plans for children, adolescents and their families that are responsive to their sociocultural contexts and include how to implement, monitor and evaluate those plans.

5.

Communicate clinical knowledge about children, adolescents and their families to professional and client audiences with sociocultural sensitivity.
