This unit focuses on organisation of the key functions of the bank with particular emphasis on the management of lending and credit decisions. This involves consideration of the various types of customer accounts and services, and the legal aspects of the bank - customer relationship. There is a focus upon the need to construct a loan portfolio that meets the bank's return to shareholder requirements, whilst maintaining an acceptable risk complexion. This includes consideration of the spread of lending, the assessment of individuals and corporations as credit risks, and covers the options available to deal with outstanding and overdue loans.
