Learning outcomes

1.

Apply knowledge of the cognitive, social and emotional development and characteristics of students relevant to your teaching area to recommend specific strategies to promote child development.

2.

Synthesize knowledge of the Behaviourist, Constructivist, Social-Cognitive an Humanist views of learning to recommend specific strategies to promote effective learning and teaching for students of diverse backgrounds. 

3.

Examine theories and concepts on motivation and engagement to critique strategies for effective learning and teaching for students of diverse backgrounds. 

4.

Critically evaluate research on how students learn and the implications for teaching to develop your own philosophy of teaching and justify your philosophy through the key theories associated with effective learning processes.
