This unit explores the SCSA Year 11-12 Mathematics Methods and Mathematics Specialist Courses rationale, structures, content, scope and sequence, requirements and resources. Students will evaluate and engage with a range of reproductive and productive pedagogy in a differentiated framework. Comprehensive lesson planning will evidence scaffolded programming, assessment for - and of learning, ICT and crosscurriculum initiatives. Students will explore learning experiences to develop psychologically needs supportive classrooms with a focus on metacognition, feedback, proactive behaviour management and routines. Stakeholder and professional agencies that support sustained quality teaching will be identified.
Overall the content of the unit is organised around the teaching and learning of various topics in SCSA Year 11-12 Mathematics courses content. Topics include Functions, Statistics and Probability, Vectors, Geometry, Matrices, Real and Complex Numbers and Calculus.
