Critically evaluate the psychotherapy outcome research as a foundation of evidence-based practice.
Interpret and integrate data from multiple sources, including an intake interview, to generate a coherent case formulation, drawing on relevant research findings and psychological theory, that describes and explains a client’s psychological functioning.
On the basis of a diagnosis and coherent case formulation, design a psychotherapeutic intervention that draws on the relevant outcome research and the client’s preferences, that includes the planned duration of the intervention and details of outcome monitoring.
Develop declarative, procedural and reflective skills to deliver effective, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions for specific disorders.
Articulate the role of diversity within the therapeutic relationship in addressing the psychological needs of people from a range of sexual orientations and identifications, cultural, class and diversity backgrounds (especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians).
