Learning outcomes

1.

Demonstrate basic knowledge of animal production systems in relation to sustainable food and fibre production, including characteristics of Australian livestock industries, fundamentals of pasture production, application of genetics in animal production systems

2.

Apply this knowledge of animal production systems to solve and manage problems in relation to sustainable food and fibre production in the context of animal management and care, promoting animal health, and occupational health and safety on farms

3.

Demonstrate proficiency in basic animal handling and restraint, identification of livestock breeds, and evaluation of pasture 

4.

Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in writing

5.

Demonstrate professional conduct through compliance with relevant policies and standards relevant to accreditation bodies
