Communicate and apply knowledge and understanding of the concepts, substance and structure of the content and teaching strategies of the English Learning Area

Design curriculum content into an effective learning and teaching sequence suitable for students’ learning needs

Plan and adapt lesson sequences using knowledge of student learning, content and effective teaching strategies and using a range of teaching strategies and resources including ICT

Plan for and organise effective classroom activities and provide clear directions to students.

Identify and apply appropriate assessment strategies to assess and promote student learning

Evaluate student learning and apply appropriate and timely feedback about their progress.

Prior to placement in any school for Professional Experience, it is mandatory that pre-service teachers complete and successfully obtain obtain several forms and clearances. Information and forms regarding these mandatory requirements can be accessed via the Professional Experience website:

Completion and submission of these mandatory requirements is essential before placements can be arranged. Students enrolled internally and externally MUST successfully complete this school experience in the Perth metropolitan area. Students who fail this unit must gain permission from the Academic Chair to progress.
