Unit content:

· Essential desktop research skills · Reading effectively and note-taking · Critical reading, writing and discussion · Essay structure and argument · Academic integrity and source use · Other essential aspects of academic writing (e.g., coherence, style and grammar) · Responding to written feedback · Preparing for and participating in class discussions and writing tasks· Effective interpersonal and group work skills, including active listening and speaking assertively · Effective oral presentations

Other notes:

Students are expected to attempt all assessments; attend at least 11 Seminars and 11 Workshops (at least 22 in total); and achieve at least 50% when results from all assessments are totalled, in order to pass the unit
