This unit code is restricted to M1290 Master of Business, M1277 Master of Communication, M1266 Master of International Affairs and Security, M1194, Master of Public Policy, G1084 Graduate Diploma in Design Thinking and Service Innovation, G1071 Graduate Diploma in Web Communication, and C1146 Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking. Students undertaking this unit as an elective in another course should enrol in GRD5031.

Research a range of design thinking tools, strategies and methodologies for a specific purpose;

Unit content:This unit will:
Engage students in researching a range of design thinking processes and tools for identifying and
deconstructing project issue/s for client projects (ULO 1/6).
Aquire skills for analysing, interpreting and evaluating how to approach complex commercial and
societal issues (ULO 2/6);
Adopt creative, strategic and empathetic methods for generating human‐centred ideas towards
making innovative outcomes for social and commercial problems (ULO 3/4/6);
Develop design strategies for testing project ideas and concepts to enable effective outcomes to be
reached for client projects (ULO 3/4/6); and
Deliver professional industry standard presentations for demystifying projects issues and explaining
potential concepts to clients and stakeholders of social or commercial complex projects (ULO 5/6).
