Additional information
The unit contains four theoretical topics:
1. Variability: observed, unobserved and latent variables.
2. Probability: Marginal and conditional probability. Visual aids to understand probablity.
3. Causality: Causal models in the form of Directed Acyclical Graphs (DAGs).
4. General linear model and multilevel modelling.
Additionally, there are two practical areas:
1. Use of the software JASP.
2. Writing a laboratory report.
This unit replaces BSC300 for students in the BSc (Psychology) and (Cognitive Neuroscience and Health Psychology) majors, and BAR300 for students in the BA (Social and Developmental Psychology) major.
