Learning outcomes
Demonstrate substantive knowledge of tourism as an academic discipline in its social, historical and world context, including its principal concepts, theories and methods of inquiry;
Formulate clear and persuasive written and spoken communication of tourism and events concepts, knowledge and arguments suited to a range of different genres and audiences;
Develop an understanding of the sources and techniques employed in tourism research, including recognition of the multiple perspectives (including inter-disciplinary perspectives) in creative enquiry of tourism and events;
Construct well-reasoned arguments by evaluating competing explanations of social phenomena;
Discuss and debate the relationship between individuals and wider global perspectives including an awareness of and respect for the social, biological, cultural, and economic interdependence of global life.
