Learning outcomes

Be able to calculate data quality parameters derived from experimental data and explain the relevance of those in a forensics context.

2.

Be able to recommend a sampling regime and sample preparation methodology that is appropriate for the chemical analysis to be performed and the source of the sample to be analysed

3.

Be able to undertake a chemical analysis in a forensic context that may include both a presumptive and confirmatory analysis technique

4.

Be able to communicate the context, methodology, results and interpretation of a chemical analysis in a forensic science context.

5.

Be able to use suitable computer based simulation or calculation tools to model a modification to an instrument based chemical analysis and test that experimentally
