This unit covers the following specific areas: • Designing and preparing research proposals • Using the literature for devising and evaluating research • Critical review of the literature • Theoretical underpinning of research methodology and problem-solving • Critical thinking • Oral communication skills • Thesis writing, abstracts and research design • Poster preparation and presentation • Instruction on key practical skills used in conducting research, such as computer packages, internet resources, and library facilities.
Honours students are advised to complete this unit in their first semester of enrolment.
