Screen Production students who have not completed SOU214 but who have completed SOU101 and SCR201/SCR204 may still be able to undertake the unit provided they have sufficient experience of sound recording and editing from their screen production units. Please contact the unit coordinator for further details.

Unit content:

Divided into three broad areas the unit covers recording, editing and mixing in linear media such as film and television. Specific areas covered include: recording location sound for film and television or sound effects; ADR and foley recording; dialogue editing; sound effects design and music editing; surround sound; rerecording; and the creation of a set of deliverables including full mixes, stems, and accompanying documentation.
