Learning outcomes

1.

Practice effective planning, organisational and communication skill development and self-awareness in Food Science and Nutrition environments showing sensitivity to indigenous and/or cultural perspectives in an industry environment

2.

Conduct a research exercise Food Science or Nutrition , analysing issues and reporting your outcomes for an industry environment

3.

Critically reflect on your learning experience and evaluate your preparedness for work in a Food Science or  Nutrition environment 

4.

Communicate employability both verbally and with appropriate documentation about Food Science and Nutrition in Practice

Additional information

Unit content:

Pre-placement skills development in a job application format. Application of discipline specidc knowledge and skills during a professional placement in the food or nutrition industry. Development of professionalism, multicultural communication and problem-solving skills and application of ethics in the workplace.

Other notes:

Students will have to have completed Principles of Nutrition FSN200, Food Science FSN200 and Nutrition and Disease FSN202 or equivalent.
