Unit content:The broad aims of this unit are to: 1. provide students with training in avian, exotic pet and wildlife medicine, which can be applied in private practice. 2. encourage students to develop a problem solving oriented approach to the diagnosis of disease conditions of avian, exotic pets and wildlife species. The taxonomic groups that are covered in this lecture series include avian, reptile, amphibian, marsupials, monotremes, chiroptera, fish, marine mammals, rabbits, rodents and ferrets. There are also lectures on zoonotic disease and wound care in non-domestic species.
