Learning outcomes

1.

Describe human physiology, psychology, biomechanics and motor control in the context of exercise science.

2.

Discuss the scope of practice for an Accredited Exercise Scientist and appropriate referral pathways.

3.

Create and develop exercise programs for apparently healthy clients and sporting populations.

4.

Utilise and interpret appropriate assessment tools.

5.

Communicate effectively to clients and other health professionals.

6.

Utilise the principles of Evidence Based Practice by evaluating the scientific literature and client needs to create appropriate exercise interventions or advice for apparently healthy clients or sporting populations.

7.

Critically evaluate and apply advanced sports science and strength and conditioning principles while integrating coaching science, to enhance athlete health and performance.

8.

Design, conduct, and interpret advanced testing and monitoring protocols appropriate for high-performance sports settings to inform evidence-based decision-making with diverse athletic populations.

9.

Design rigorous research methodologies and apply appropriate data analysis techniques to evaluate sports science interventions in professional and academic contexts.

10.

Design and undertake sports science research, including data analysis and critical evaluation, and be able to communicate the practical application of findings to a range of stakeholders.

11.

Demonstrate professional competence in sports science delivery, integrating effective communication skills and reflective practice with athletes, coaches, and multidisciplinary teams.

12.

Exhibit a commitment to professional sports science standards by upholding legal, cultural, and ethical responsibilities in practice.
